Public speaking and using your words well

I’ve music on in the background and I’m thinking “There’s something odd going on here. Something strange.”

I listened.

And then I heard it…

It was the same.

But different.

It was the song ‘Human” but a stripped down, slower version by Jack Savoretti.

Just an acoustic guitar and his voice.

Simple.

The original is faster, much more oomph and more highly produced.

And it was one of the biggest hits for The Killers.

A toe-tapper and a real earworm.

Never off the radio.

Which do I prefer?

I don’t know.

They’re different things.

Different energies.

Different moods.

The next time you’re going to be talking about a subject someone’s talked about before, which is pretty much all of the time, remember that you can put your own spin on it.

Communication is just as much about the how as the what.

And how you choose to communicate is up to you.

Get creative.

Think metaphorically.

Pick up an acoustic guitar, so to speak.

Play around a bit.

Be you.

And in case you’re wondering what I’m talking about, here are the two versions of the same song.

This is The Killers' version.

And this is Jack Savoretti’s.
