How to get promoted by working on your two biggest assets and have fun

They smile. Laugh. Scrunch up their eyes a bit as they think. "Wow. That was fun, Mica!” This is the answer. What’s the question?

The question is “What’s it like to work with me?”

One of the ways I work with clients is through doing a series of communication skills exercises.

They’re short and snappy.

And – the important bit – they get results.

Communication skills training that gets results

My clients get promoted.

They take on new, big pieces of work that would have scared them before.

Their words are more fluent, natural, and calm in those important meetings.

All by focusing on a series of short, focused exercises. Each exercise takes 4 minutes and strengthens a core communication skill.

Topics include amongst others, influencing decision makers, engaging with audiences, successfully managing stakeholder relationships, storytelling that creates connection, and using structure to increase the impact of your message.

In a coaching session my clients practice these techniques through doing these exercises and I give them specific feedback on what’s going well and where and how to improve.

And my clients’ communication skills develop, they have more communication tools to use, and their confidence soars. One recent client used to be an expert at hiding whenever he thought his boss was going to ask him to speak at meetings and work events.

And now? Now, he actively volunteers to speak at these gatherings. And he’s been promoted.

So, what kind of folk do I work with?

How to get that promotion

The clients I work with are going through change or they’ve just gone through change.

And they know that they need some support with that.

Which is where I come in.

And we work on developing their two biggest assets: their communication and their confidence.

For example:

🟡 They’re on their first or second job and want a promotion but they’re communication skills and their confidence aren’t where they need to be. Yet. We work together to change that and flip that script.

🟡 They’re on their first or second job and have just been promoted. Wehey!!! But… they’ve just realised their communication skills and their confidence is wobbly. And it’s holding them back. I work with them to get them positive and brimming with confidence.

🟡 They’re at senior manager level. They’ve been round the block a few times. Know what’s what. But they realise to get promoted further they need that elusive gravitas and executive presence. That’s where I come in to help.

🟡 They’re at senior manager level. And they’ve just been promoted. Again….wehey!!! But now they need to communicate with so many more people in so many more ways. And that’s where I come in to show them how they can do that.
